Young people can be influential and powerful, especially when they work together.
The Climate Pathfinders Youth Forum (CPYF) is a platform for young people with a passion for the environment and who care for the future of the climate.
We share a common purpose and will drive action for positive environmental change.
Climate Pathfinders Youth Forum Priorities
We have three priorities:
- Take local action to improve the environment for nature and promote eco-friendly lifestyles.
- Tell decision makers about the future world we want to live in and persuade them to make pro-environmental decisions.
- Spread the word for people to join us and inspire them to take positive action for the climate.
CPYF’s First Action
Working with Peak District National Park Rangers, the High Peak & Derbyshire Dales Climate Pathfinders Youth Forum met in person for the first time on a glorious June Sunday morning. Our environmental remit? To survey what is living in the Tideswell Dale stream, and then we joined TDEG’s litter pick event in the afternoon.

Support Group
Hosted by the Tideswell & District Environment Group (TDEG) and run as part of the Friends of the Earth Climate Action network, CPYF is supported by a group of adults from TDEG Climate Action Group, Transition Buxton, Bee kinder, Transition New Mills, Hope Valley Climate Action Group, and the Peak District National Park Authority.
Together they support the young people in coming together, creating opportunities to learn from others, seek funding, signpost to initiatives, campaigns and opportunities and maintain all safety and privacy policies and procedures.
We take our safeguarding responsibilities very seriously. If you would like to read our safeguarding policy, it is available here – CPYF Safeguarding 2022 .
