TDEG Summer Wildlife Walks

TDEG’s Wildlife Group are delighted to invite you to join them on three forthcoming wildlife walks around our area.

Please note, that due to continuing COVID 19 restrictions, numbers will be restricted and booking is essential. Booking details below.

Bat Walk in Tideswell Dale

7.30pm, Saturday, 28 August 2021

Meet at Tideswell Dale Car Park, Buxton Road, Tideswell.

A short walk down Tideswell Dale and into Millers Dale (and back!), discovering the different species of bat which live locally. We will be accompanied by Jill Leheup, from the Derbyshire Bat Group, and we will have several bat detectors available to use. Jill will lead us on the walk and also explain what bats we are likely to see and hear with the bat detectors. It should be a great evening and we hope it will be very popular.

Please wear warm clothing and sensible shoes, and bring a small torch. The path is reasonably even, but it will get dark!

Booking is essential, as numbers are limited. Click on this link to take you to the Eventbrite booking site –

Swift Walk

A short walk around the village of Tideswell, led by local swift expert, Andy Broadhurst. This event is taking place during the national Swift Awareness Week, and we will be trying to count how many swifts we have swooping above our village.

Meet at 8pm, Fountain Square, Wednesday 14 July 2021 (note date change – due to a certain football match!).

Please note that if the weather is very poor, this event may be postponed, as swifts don’t show well in the rain!
