Bicycle Maintenance Club Launches!

Getting down to the nuts and bolts
A quick wash and brush up
Just a little tweaking here...

The launch of our Bicycle Maintenance Club was a great success!! We opened up for business on Saturday, 1 April (some might say an interesting date for such an ambitious project) – but the afternoon went really well and attracted local cyclists and families.

One participant praised the organisers and repairers (all volunteers), saying “Great organisation by Helen, and great expertise and technical skills from Sam and Amy“.

The Bicycle Maintenance Club will meet on the 1st Saturday of every month, 3pm-5pm, outside Tideswell’s Old Grammar School (behind St. John’s Church).

You can come to learn or practise some essential skills, or for advice on a repair – or just bring your bike along for some routine TLC. We can answer questions, offer tips, help you to assess the condition of your bike and make minor adjustments and repairs, and talk you through maintenance activities using one of the Cycling Group’s donated bikes. We also have tools and common spare parts, proper bike stands, cleaning kit, and cups of tea.

If you are in need of a bike, we might have a donated bike that would work for you – including balance bikes for our younger beginners!

You don’t have to commit to coming along every month – we’ll be here, and you can come as a one off or as often as you like.

If you have any questions or particular requests, feel free to let us know beforehand, either on our TDEG Facebook page or at cycling@tdeg.org.uk.
These new bicycle stands are really helpful
Almost finished and as good as new
And then the fun really starts
