TDEG Summer Walks 2022

Everyone is welcome on our summer wildlife walks. There is no charge, but booking is required so we can monitor and manage numbers, contact participants in case of emergencies, and ensure everyone is safe.

Please follow the relevant link below to book on to individual events.

Children under 16 years old are welcome, if accompanied by a parent or guardian. Further advice about the walks and other guidance is available on the booking forms.

 
Orchids and other wild flowers in Millers Dale –

Wednesday 29 June, 6pm – 8pm – Orchids and other wildflowers – meet at Millers Dale Station Car park.

Exploring farming life on a local dairy farm – 

Saturday 9 July, 10.30am-12.30pm – at the kind invitation of Robert Thornhill – Standhill Farm, Great Longstone (located just on the road over to Hassop), DE45 1TW.

Bat Walk in Tideswell Dale – 

Monday 8 August, 8.30pm – 9.30pm – with Jill from the Derbyshire Bat Group. Starting at Tideswell Dale Car Park, we will walk down Tideswell Dale, looking and listening for different species of bats (using the Derbyshire Bat Group’s echlocation bat detectors).

Butterflies in Tansley Dale – (re-organised)
Sunday 14 August, 11am-1pm  – with Gordon and Alison Rooke. Meet on Litton village green, outside the village shop.
This is the re-organised event after we had to postpone 24th July due to the poor weather.
